Lunch In Santa's Workshop

So I hate to disappoint you, but I didn't really have lunch in Santa's workshop. I did, however, have lunch at my mom's house which is about as close as you can probably get to the North Pole/Santa's Workshop/Christmas Land/(insert any other name you can think of). The reason I say this is because of the ridiculous amount of Christmas d├ęcor she owns! Seriously, the woman covers every inch of her house with anything that would fall under the category of another Christmas decoration. With all of this said, she still manages to make it all look so good. Yes, I may have made it sound like it's all over the top, which maybe it is, but if you could see it in person... She somehow pulls it off! It fits the style of her home so well and makes Christmas even a little more exciting than it already is.

Yesterday, my mom had some friends over for a lunch and I decided to crash the party and join in on the good food and good company! While I was there I snapped some pictures to share with you.

This is hanging in her foyer. My parents live in an old historic home, so the ceilings are very tall which allows this to work. If this were to hang in my house, people would probably bump their head on it repeatedly!

{Don't you love the light fixture the bells are attached to? I do!}

Next up is the formal living room's mantel. This one is always my favorite, year after year. And this year is no exception. Take a look:

Notice the archway as you come into the formal living room in the mirror above. That's the best part of old homes -- the attention to detail! Nobody seems to make homes like that anymore.

This secretary desk with a hutch is also in the same room:

Now for the dining room, where we ate lunch. The table was set with Coton Colors's Christmas pottery and, like the rest of the house, was all decked out for a magical Christmas lunch! Take a peek:

I love the following shot. The pearl trees make it look like it's snowing!

And here is the mantel in the dining room:

So what did you think? Do you think it looks as magical and North Pole-like as I do? I always love to see how my mom ends up decorating for the holidays, so I thought I'd share the Christmas spirit in her home with you. Can you believe Christmas is only 4 days away?! Thank goodness I've finished most of my Christmas shopping. I have one more gift to still buy and some stocking stuffers, but other than that -- I'm done. I hope you're enjoying this holiday season!

Before Christmas actually arrives, I'm going to share some pictures of our tree and the garland I made for the dining room. This was my first year to really/truly decorate a tree (making the topper and all!) and make a garland. For my first time, I think I did pretty well. I guess I'll let you be the judge of that...
